Floridablanca Doctors’ Hospital, Inc. (FDHI) Hemodialysis Unit conducted its second Lay Forum, in celebration of Nurses’ Week at the Hemodialysis Unit entrance hall on October 19, 2016 10:00AM, with the Theme: “Eat Well, Plan a Kidney-friendly Meal”, with guest speaker Ms. Gloria M. Atmosfera, RND, Chief Dietician of FDHI.
With Juan Felipe G. Buergo, RN as the emcee, Jhoey Abcidy R. Santos, RN led the opening prayer, followed by Daniel Joseph R. Mann, RN for the opening remarks and introduction of speaker by Myrene S. Esteban, RN, MSN, FDHI Hemodialysis Unit Head.
The event was opened to all participants, from 18years and above. It was attended by 72 participants who are hemodialysis patients and relatives mostly. The speaker focused on the various kinds of food to eat and to be avoided, followed by an invitation for consultation for diet plans. The open forum and discussion ended with a closing remarks by Dr. Edna G. Cercenia, RN, MAN, EdD, FDHI Chief Nurse. Snacks and refreshments were provided by all HD Staff.
Rawsi Williams said “To do what nobody else can do, in spite of all we go through; that is to be a nurse”. Therefore, let us continue to show gratitude and appreciation to all our skilled and compassionate nurses.
